Melissa has a passion for working with children that have experienced trauma, specifically children currently experiencing foster care in the therapeutic setting. Additionally, Melissa and her husband have been licensed foster parents in Alabama for over five years. This experience combined with a passion to educate others enables Melissa to present on the topic of foster care with others. Learning the ins-and-outs of the foster care system, how to navigate counseling with a child in foster care, and remaining trauma-informed and focused can be difficult. Melissa is available to present and educate at workshops, conferences, and community meetings on a wide-variety of topics.
